4-6-01 - Ray Tests for Jerry Nadeau!
On Friday, 4-6-01, Ray Cook went to the Dirt Track at the Lowe's Motor Speedway to give Winston Cup star, Jerry Nadeau, driver of the #25 Delphi Monte Carlo a hand. Nadeau had entered a DIRT big-block modified in the race at Charlotte, but could not make it to the Friday night test session. His team contacted Ray Cook to do the driving, and we went along. We will be racing at North Georgia Speedway on Saturday night for the 40-lap, $2000 to win show. We will also be at Tri County Speedway on Sunday at 2 pm for a 50-lap, $2000 to win race. Tri County is 5 min from Ray's house and is the track he grew up on, starting out in Pony Cars.
4-1-01 - Ray Takes 13th in Texas
The boys had a rough night on a rough track at the Texas Motor speedway dirt track last night.
Ray won the first consi-race to get into the feature. The track was very rough and dmaged a few cars suspensions, including Ray's forcing him to drop out on lap 30 with problems in th right-rear suspension. Ray finished 13th in a race that saw only 11 of the 24-car starting field complete the 50-lap distance.
3-20-01 - Die-Cast Coming Soon!

3-14-01 - Ray Cook Racing 2001 Schedule Is Up!
We have posted our current 2001 racing schedule for the 2001 season. Click on the Schedule button at left to view it. Watch here and on the Schedule page for additional dates to be added as the season progresses.
The newest addition is for March 30th when we have added a Southern All Stars race at the Atomic Speedway in Knoxville, TN.
3-12-01 - Ray Grabs 3rd at Bama Bash
Ray Cook and the team entered the Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series opener Sunday afternoon at the Green Valley Speedway.
Ray started 8th in the main event but worked his way through the field to catch Scott Bloomquist. Ray made the pass on Bloomquist to take over the third spot. Though closing on the leaders, Ray ran out of laps and finished a strong third.
The top ten in the feature were, 1. Dale McDowell, 2. John Jones, 3. Ray Cook, 4. Scott Bloomquist, 5. Marshall Green, 6. Jason Smith, 7. Rex Richey, 8. Billy Ogle Jr, 9. Mark Bangs, 10. Paul Tims.
2-25-01 - Bama Bash
Ray qualified 8th and ran 2nd to McDowell in the 2nd heat. He will start 8th in the feature which was postponed due to rain. We will go back on March 11 for the feature with John Jones and Dale McDowell on the front row.
2-3-01 - Tough, But Fast Day
Ray and the guys were just a bit off in qualifying today and then missed the transfer spot in his heat by one position. Freddy Smith smoked the field all night long, but in qualifying he was the only one under 17-seconds and ran a lap with an average speed of just over 133 mph!
Ray started on the pole of his consi and won it handily. Then he had to start 20th in the feature. After many laps locked in a battle with Dan Schlieper and Rick Eckert, Schlieper broke and Ray took the spot. At the end Ray had moved to 17th in the 30-lap feature.
Tomorrow they have a 50-lap daytime feature and we will report on that tomorrow evening.
2-02-01 - New Cars - New Tires
Ray and the team unloaded a pair of shinny, fresh cars in the Golden Isles Speedway pits this afternoon. Though today is only devoted to testing and practice, Ray and the team worked to get the cars ready so both could be tried on the ultra-fast racing surface.
Through the early hot-lap sessions Ray was as fast as anyone and the car seemed to handle well. Any uncertainty about the new American Racer tires is gone. Tomorrow Ray will drive his first race on the new tires and he expects to do well.
We will bring news from the track again tomorrow evening,, so stay tuned!
1-31-01 - Heading for Golden Isles!
Ray and the team will be heading to the Golden Isle Speedway (Brunswick, GA) for the season opener for the UDTRA Pro DirtCar Series.
For those who haven't heard, Hav-A-Tampa has ended their long association with the series, hence the new name.
We hope to post a full schedule for 2001 shortly.

11-11-00 - Ray Takes 5th in Bill Ingram Memorial at Dixie Speedway
Ray held fast time through much of qualifying tonight but Scott Bloomquist narrowly edged Ray to second in time, but the car weighed three pounds light according to the scales in Dixies infield. That meant Rays qualifying time was disallowed and he had to start at the back of his heat race.
Here is Ray's car and the guys in the pits at Dixie Speedway getting ready for the races.
Watch for more photos coming later this week!

In the heat Ray spent most of the eight laps stuck behind slower cars, finishing out of the top three that transferred to the feature.
In his last-chance race Ray was involved in two minor crashes that left his car damaged, particularly the right rear corner. Despite the damage Ray charged to the front and won his consi handily.
In the feature repeated cautions did not help Ray any. Once the race stayed under green he began passing cars using both the inside and outside lines. On lap 45 he passed Marshall Green for fifth place where he finished.
Watch for photos from the track to be posted in a couple of days.
11-6-00 - Ray Wins Pepsi Classic at Tennessee Motor Speedway!
Ray qualified second which put him on the outside of the front row to start the race.
After a short battle with Mark Martin, Ray took the lead on lap two and never looked back--sort of. He had a full straight lead at times but cautions brought the field back onto his tail forcing him to hold off a competitive field, including Dale McDowell. Ray led the rest of the race, winning the annual Pepsi Classic and picking up the $7000 first-place check.
10-28-00 - Trick or Treat 125's - Atomic Speedway, Knoxville, TN
Fridays event - Ray started 11th, finished 3rd.
Saturday night Ray started 6th and finished 2nd.

10-22-00 - Dirt Track World Championships, West Virginia Motor Speedway, Mineral Wells, WV- Ray finished third in the second heat, giving him a 20th starting position in the feature. After a very strange feature with everything from cautions to Freddy Smith chasing Bloomquist backwards on the track, Ray managed to hold his position and finished 20th.
